New COVID CT dataset with expert annotations available

A project led by Dr. Diedre Carmo has just released a set of CT images of COVID-19 subjects, along with expert annotations of anomalous regions, for use in developing automatic segmentation algorithms.

Faizyab Chaudhary just published a paper in IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging entitled "LungViT: Ensembling Cascade of Texture Sensitive Hierarchical Vision Transformers for Cross-Volume Chest CT Image-to-Image Translation". He developed a generative adversarial framework for estimating CT image intensities of expiratory CT images from the inspiratory CT images.
Paper on assessing lobar fissure integrity just published in Scientific Reports

Zac Althof just published a paper in Scientific Reports entitled "Attention U-net for automated pulmonary fissure integrity analysis in lung computed tomography images". He has developed an automated system for assessing fissure integrity in lung CT images and has applied it to data from the SPIROMICS cohort.

A new paper entitled "Quantitative CT Characteristics of Cluster Phenotypes in the Severe Asthma Research Program Cohorts" was just published in the Radiology. This paper shows the utility of biomechanical measures (especially Jacobian and ADI) in clustering and phenotyping asthma subgroups.

Faizyab Chaudhary just published an ISBI 2022 conference paper on "Single volume lung biomechanics from chest computed tomography using a mode preserving generative adversarial network." In this work, he describes how to generation synthetic Jacobian images depicting lung expansion from a single CT image.
